Gavin is a sales and marketing veteran with over 10 years of sales and marketing experience. He is passionate about helping small businesses get the results they want from their websites and other marketing efforts.
Gavin's goal is to show you better ways to get in front of prospects, convert them to leads and customers, and turn them into raving fans who will be lifelong customers and shout your praises to others who need your products or services. Gavin and his team makes this happen through smart marketing and inbound marketing principles.
Gavin brings a unique skill set in that he has a very wide background in marketing with expertise in inbound marketing, social media, marketing communication, brand strategy, and promotions.
He also has experience with numerous marketing tactics and functions such as ad creative, writing copy, internet marketing, web analytics, customer service and sales, and marketing management. He has managed several projects (both marketing and non-marketing related) for such organizations as Chick-fil-A, CPCC, Sorrell Law Firm, and the Union County Chamber of Commerce. Prior to starting 1st Position Marketing, Gavin served as a unit marketing director with multiple units for Chick-fil-A in Charlotte, NC.
Additionally, Gavin pairs this broad experience in marketing with a strong business educational foundation, having completed a graduate business program at the University of Massachussetts-Lowel's business school. Prior to that, he studied business and marketing at the undergraduate level at Cal-Berkeley and CPCC. Oh, and did we mention that he earned straight As at each of these 3 institutions of higher learning, all while working and raising a family? Because he did!
Gavin continues his education through voracious consumption of books, articles, videos, webinars and seminars to stay up to date with the latest marketing trends and best practices. And he constantly experiments with new approaches and tactics and monitors the results to see what works well and what doesn't. He is dedicated to keeping his knowledge fresh and current so he can always deliver the advice and services that help his clients succeed in a complex and changing environment.
